Some background

​

I draw on over a decade’s experience of running my own publishing business and helping my magazine advertising clients build their businesses.

 

A recurring question from my advertising clients is “Can you write it for me?”

 

I've worked with many brilliant and ambitious business owners who excel at what they do but struggle with writing.

​

Without clearly communicating to their potential customers, they miss the sales they deserve.

 

They get so far in business, get the low hanging fruit and the easy clients, then hit a plateau.

 

Either writing a sales page or emails that feel weak; staring at a blank screen in terror or procrastinating for days.

 

Writing has always come pretty easily to me. I set about getting formal copywriting training and honing my skills, adding to my natural talent to turn it into a revenue-generating machine for my clients.

A confession

 

Confession:  I get more excited about people’s businesses than about their babies.

 

(Don’t get me wrong; babies are cool. I’ve had three myself)

​

I’m passionate about business.  I believe it should be fun, and I believe in celebrating every win. That’s what we’ll be doing plenty of. Ultimately, I want to help you achieve the life-style you dreamed of when you set the business up (which may include spending plenty of time with the aforementioned babies).

​

I celebrate every time a business gets more customers from the writing I've done.

Some personal details

 

When not curating magical mixes of words for clients, I can be found enjoying Scotland's stunning great outdoors, either on foot in the hills or on my motorbike. Or sitting at my piano attempting to interpret Chopin.

 

I’m involved in six-month language and cultural exchanges within Europe for kids aged 8 – 12.

 

There are always at least 10 different sorts of tea in my tea cupboard. I feel insecure when it drops below that.

I keep chickens.

My first job was in the purchasing department of an international engineering company.

​

I've got a MA in International Business and Languages, I’ve lived on three continents, I speak three languages, and am endlessly fascinated by the power of words.

 

I drink too much coffee, but can never say no to a kale smoothie with a shot of wheatgrass (great book, that)
